How to Play Video Poker

Video Poker deals you five cards from a standard 52-card deck. You choose which cards to hold and which to discard. Discarded cards are replaced with new ones from the deck. Your final five-card hand is evaluated against a pay table. Jacks or Better is the default variant.

  2. Click Deal. Five cards are dealt face up.
  3. Click the cards you want to Hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my bet if I don't get a winning hand in Video Poker?

Your bet is lost and the round ends. You can then set a new bet amount and click Deal to play another hand.

Can I change my hold selections after clicking Draw?

No. Once you click Draw, the replacement cards are dealt and your hand is final. You cannot change your selections after this point.

What is the minimum winning hand in Jacks or Better Video Poker?

A pair of Jacks or higher is the minimum winning hand. Pairs of Tens or lower do not pay out in this variant.

How does the pay table affect my potential winnings?

The pay table shows the payout multiplier for each hand rank based on your bet amount. Higher-ranked hands like Royal Flush pay significantly more than lower-ranked hands like a single pair.

Do I need to hold all five cards if I have a winning hand?

No. You can hold any combination of cards or discard all five cards to try for a better hand. The choice is yours before clicking Draw.
